Collected by the Cultural Arts Commission in 2005. "This temporary exhibit is a small example of the many historical photos that have been copied from family collections. This is an ongoing project that will hopefully be expanded. What this project hopefully accomplishes is to give the history of Ellington over the years. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but it also causes people to exchange several thousand works. Writing about these photos is a way to capture the history of Ellington. Photos are great, but they raise more questions than they answer. Pictures need to be explained in order to make them more meaningful. Mosre pictures are needed to complete theis ongoing project. Most of the pictures that have been collected are great historical photos. But what about from then to now? What was life like in the 1930s through the present? If you have pictures of value, make sure that you have captions that go along with all the photos. 100 years from today, people may be interested as to what life was like now! As you can see from these historical photos, it sure has changed."
